KaZaK Composites' large panel pultrusion makes the HERS Shelter both cost-competitive with, and far more habitable than, the large tent systems currently used for military shelters, temporary housing, and disaster relief. Providing a 50% improvement in thermal insulation, this transportable panelized building system packages more than 5,000 square feet of panels inside a standard 20-foot ISO container, and quickly deploys with a minimum of labor to a large 96 x 20-foot facility.

Energy-Absorbing Seismic Brace
  • Simple, low-cost design and zero maintenance device mechanically attaches diagonally across building bays.
  • Braces are comprised of 3 major components:

           - Energy-absorbing metal core  
           - Anti-buckling tubular sleeve
           - Lightweight filler between core              and sleeve

  • The device provides damping by yielding in both tension and compression. The sleeve and filler prevent core buckling during compression cycles.
