KAZAK COMPOSITES LISTED ON THE INC. 5000 INDEX
OF THE FASTEST GROWING U.S. PRIVATE COMPANIES

Company Places on the Annual List as Well as the Top 100 Manufacturing Companies and Top 100 Businesses in Boston

WOBURN, MA, September 12, 2008 - KaZaK Composites, Inc., a premier provider of high value-added composite engineering and design, announced today that the company has placed on the 2008 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in the country.  KaZaK came in at number 911 on the full list and placed 26th in the Top 100 U.S. Manufacturing Companies and 32nd in the Top 100 Businesses in Boston.

“KaZaK’s inclusion in this year’s list is a huge accomplishment and it shows our dedication to growing the company,” said John Schickling, EVP/COO.  “We are proud to have been recognized for both our strong fiscal growth as well as our growth in manufacturing, both on a national level and within the greater Boston region.  We consider it an honor to be included in all three lists.”

KaZaK’s inclusion in this year’s list was a result of strong financial growth over the last four years due to an increase in projects in both the military space and different private industries.  Many projects are started with R&D funding through contract awards under the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) initiative and KaZaK has been able to bring several SBIR-funded projects to commercialization, meeting the objectives of the program.  Senator John Kerry (D-Mass), in his role as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, has been a strong supporter of this program which has been instrumental in growing small business jobs across the nation.

“Several of the composite products we’ve designed and manufactured, including impact recovery stanchions, have become great revenue generators for the company,” said Jerry Fanucci, CEO of KaZaK.  “It’s gratifying to see all of the hard work that our engineers put into research and development turn into viable products that solve a unique problem for both military and private companies.  We anticipate that more of these projects will result in continued growth for KaZaK in the coming years.”

The methodology of the 2008 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007.  To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based, privately held and independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.
