KAZAK COMPOSITES CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE MANUFACTURING FACILITY
Three Years After Opening, Several New Projects Are Underway

WOBURN, MA, March 22, 2010 - KaZaK Composites, Inc., a premier provider of high value-added composite engineering and design, today announced that its New Hampshire facility is celebrating its third anniversary with the commencement of several large-scale projects, increasing both company revenue as well as the number of employees at the facility.

"We've begun to work on several projects, including ballistic panels for the new Navy Zumwalt destroyer, a project which was developed through the government’s Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program.  We will manufacture these panels as a subcontractor to Raytheon," said John Schickling, EVP/COO of KaZaK Composites.  "We have a number of other projects that are in the early stages of production which grow our use of New Hampshire-based companies as suppliers.  With several projects in production simultaneously, additional temporary staff members have been hired to work in areas from project management, safety compliance and manufacturing production in the New Hampshire facility."

In 2007, KaZaK moved its primary manufacturing plant from South Carolina to New Hampshire, a move that has benefited both the company and the state.  "We have received a considerable amount of support from the State of New Hampshire," said Schickling.  "Our main goal has always been to work towards the commercialization of our composites technology developed through the SBIR program, turning developing technology into jobs.  Administrators at the State of New Hampshire have supported our endeavors through introductions and referrals for New Hampshire-based suppliers and skilled employees for our Hudson facility."

"The State of New Hampshire has a business-friendly environment where companies like KaZaK can thrive, grow and create good jobs.  I look forward to KaZaK’s continued success here in New Hampshire and working to ensure companies like this can continue to grow and compete,” Gov. John Lynch said.
