KAZAK COMPOSITES EVP/COO JOHN SCHICKLING PARTICIPATES IN RAYTHEON INDUSTRY DAY
Mr. Schickling Sits on Panel Discussing Industry Perspectives
WOBURN, MA, March 24, 2010 – KaZaK Composites, Inc., a premier provider of high value-added composite engineering and design, today announced EVP/COO John Schickling participated in Raytheon's Navy Seapower Industry Day, sitting on a panel with fellow industry experts to discuss the developments of key technologies into Navy Seapower.
The panel Mr. Schickling sat on was part of an all-day meeting that gave attendees an overview of Raytheon's Navy Seapower Capabilities, including the ongoing investment in the Zumwalt Destroyer mission equipment and other next generation technologies. Additionally, Mr. Schickling's panel spoke to the importance of building and maintaining relationships with members of Congress who are responsible for authorizing and appropriating funds for all military expenditures. KaZaK has brought several military projects from concept through commercialization with funds received through the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program, generating substantial savings for the Navy on several ship programs.
"KaZaK has achieved great success with the SBIR program, with Raytheon and other prime contractors as well," said John Schickling. "By nurturing informative relationships with our Legislative representatives in Washington, we have been able to keep them abreast of our successes under the SBIR program. Those successes have provided jobs in the region and have helped to bring necessary and innovative products to the fleet in support of our men and women in the Navy and Marine Corps. Members of Congress are more receptive to our inquiries when they can see these real-life applications of developed technology under the SBIR program. We can show their benefit to the region and the country which helps our Legislators recognize the national security and economic benefits of the government funding and its importance to the country."
The Raytheon Navy Seapower Industry Day was held in Washington, DC on February 24, 2010.
