KAZAK COMPOSITES PRESENTS PAPERS AT
SAMPE AND THE GLOBAL PULTRUSION CONFERENCE

Pultrusion-Based Composites Manufacturing Saves the Military Money

BALTIMORE, MD, May 18, 2009  – KaZaK Composites, Inc., a premier provider of high value-added composite engineering and design, today announced that it will be presenting two papers at the annual SAMPE Conference and one at the Global Pultrusion Conference, both in Baltimore, Maryland.

One of the topics being presented at SAMPE focuses on the use of pultrusion as a way to significantly lower the cost of composite ship structures.  “We have been working closely with the US Navy to try to cut costs without compromising the integrity of the ship structures,” says John Schickling, EVP/COO of KaZaK Composites, Inc.  “By using pultrusion as a way to manufacture composites such as ship panels we can not only save money on the panels themselves, but we also can find significant savings in the assembly of these panels.  We estimate that we can save the US Navy from 60 to 88% on labor alone.”  This presentation will be done by KaZaK’s CEO, Dr. Jerry Fanucci.  He will also present similar findings to the attendees of the Global Pultrusion Conference, also being held in Baltimore this week.

Another presentation at SAMPE by Valentin Neascu, a senior composites engineer at KaZaK, discusses the use of alternative processes in the liquid molding process.
