KAZAK COMPOSITES INTRODUCES A NEW UNIVERSAL CARGO RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR MILITARY ORDNANCE
New System Focuses on Land Transportation of Ordnance Loads by ISO Containers and Tractor Trailer Trucks

ARLINGTON, VA, June 8, 2009  – KaZaK Composites, Inc., a premier provider of high value-added composite engineering and design, today announced it has designed a universal cargo restraint system that is reusable, simple to install and disassemble and saves the Navy both money and time.  The system is comprised of extruded aluminum structural components, a cabling system and air bags and all of the components are sized to fit into or fold onto a standard pallet.  It is lightweight, easily portable, requires minimal training time for use and requires no additional tools, therefore making it a much quicker and more economical installation.

"The beauty of this new system is the ease with which it can be installed and disassembled," says Brian Smith, Director of Engineering of KaZaK Composites.  "While the old system employed wood and nails to keep the cargo in place this system requires no power tools and isn't labor intensive at all.  Also, when the system is disassembled there is no waste and it can be used again for the next cargo load."

Another benefit to this system is its adaptability.  Because of the use of cables within a frame the new system can easily be used on cargo loads of varying shapes and sizes.  The system comes with air bags that can be placed within the load to prevent shifting during transit.
