KAZAK COMPOSITES, INC. APPOINTS JOHN J. SCHICKLING AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Was Previously With Phase Forward

WOBURN, MA, September 5, 2005 – KaZaK Composites, Inc., a premier provider of high value-added composite engineering and design, today announced that it has appointed John J. Schickling as EVP and COO/CFO, effective immediately. Part of Schickling’s role will be to help commercialize some of the composite designs that have been developed by KaZaK’s esteemed team of engineers for military applications and to find a way to bring them into new industries.

“We are really excited to have John on board,” says KaZaK CEO Jerry Fanucci. “His years of experience bringing companies to their next level has prepared him well for what needs to be accomplished at KaZaK. Our products have seen great success within the U.S. military but we can see a host of applications within the private sector as well. John will help us to identify the products that can be used in the commercial world and connect us with the correct people that can help to bring those products to market.” With a background in both domestic and global organizations, Schickling brings extensive financial and operations experience to KaZaK. He previously lead global software developer Phase Forward (Nasdaq: PFWD) to an IPO in 2004. Prior to that, Schickling was SVP/CFO at London-based Mobile Systems International (MSI), a global solutions provider in the telecommunications industry and was also SVP/CFO at PRI Automation, a semiconductor capital equipment manufacturer who he also brought to a successful IPO while simultaneously growing revenues from $7.5MM to $170MM annually.

Schickling was also a founder and COO/CFO of Telesis Systems, a successful CAE/CAD company of the early 1980s. He began his career at General Electric, where he spent 14 years, and graduated from GE’s Financial Management Program. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and holds an MBA from Babson College. Additionally, Schickling was a longtime faculty member at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Business. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Pharsight Corporation (NASDAQ: PHST) and is on the Board of Trustees of St. Mary's High School in Lynn, MA.

John Schickling will be based out of KaZaK’s corporate headquarters located in Woburn, MA.
